Do You Need A Detox?

by Kerryn Odell

Detoxification – a process that the body does by itself daily to neutralise and clear unwanted substances such as perfume, alcohol, cigarette smoke, pesticides, heavy metals such as lead and mercury, medications, cleaning and body products within the body.

Our body has a very effective detoxification system however, our environment as well as our lifestyle choices and diet can contribute to the accumulation of toxins and sometimes the body needs a little extra support to clear them.

What is Iridology?

by Kerryn Odell

What is Iridology? By Kerryn Odell Nutritionist and Iridologist

Eyes have long been referred to as the “Windows of the Soul”.  Iridology is the study of the iris, the coloured part of the eye.  Like markings on a map the iris reveals physiological conditions, health risks, challenges and/or strengths of various organs and personality traits.
Through iridology we can get an understanding of your past, present and potential future health conditions by assessing the various body systems.  Your inherited tendencies compounded by toxic accumulations in various parts of your body are revealed.

What does your eye say about your health?

This eye shows that the person has a strong constitution.  They rarely get sick.  They are a high achiever; have a type A personality are likely to push themselves to breaking point.  There is a weakness in the kidney area and a lot of acidity in the body.  They are likely to feel better on a gluten free, dairy free and alkaline diet.
They have low stomach acid and a highly reactive digestive system.  Hold a lot of muscular tension in their head, neck and shoulders and have a predisposition to dry skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

Are you interested to know what your eye says about you?
Kerryn uses Iridology regularly in her consultations.  She currently offering 15-minute complimentary iridology drop in appointments (with printed Iris photo) on Fridays between 3:00 and 4:30pm.  Call 9979 8887 to book.

Do you have the guts to be healthy

Anatomy of the digestive system
The digestive system is essentially a hollow tube beginning in the mouth and extending to the anus.

Your stomach is responsible for the chemical digestion of your food and the intestines take care of nutrient absorption and manufacture of some vitamins such as Vitamin K and B12.  The lining of the intestine is made up of cells just one cell thick.  These cells but up tightly together forming tight cell junctions.  It’s through these tight cell junctions that nutrient absorption takes place.
Stress, toxins, antibiotics, poor diet and other medications all cause damage to the lining and put gaps in the tight cell junctions.  This enables the contents of the intestines to leak out into circulation and is called intestinal permeability.
This intestinal permeability results in inflammation not only in the digestive system but systemically throughout the body and can often be the cause of headaches, mood swings, disturbed sleep, food cravings, brain fog, fatigue, weight gain, skin conditions, sinus, allergies, food intolerances, hormonal symptoms, muscular pain and much more
