Why everyone needs a Life Coach
By Kate Wood
Just like you need an athletic coach and a business coach, I believe we actually all need a ‘Life Coach’. How you expect to have the best life without some guidance? Life coaching is for everyone but people particularly seek out a life coach when they need help making changes in their life. Those changes might be related to career, finances, relationships or health. A life coach can help you to achieve goals, maximise your potential, access self-mastery, break through limiting belief patterns, re-pattern and create the life of your dreams. Just like any coach, a life coach can give you a framework to achieve your goals, keep you accountable, provides strategies and give you feedback. A life coach can give you confidence and support to move forward in a positive manner when you crave change and transformation.
As a child you have very little limitation in your mind (if any) about what you can do, be or have in life. According to Morris Massey, all your core values are formed by 21 years of age and will not change unless you experience a significant emotional experience or you make a conscious effort to change them as is done is life coaching. By the time you become an adult many things have influenced your belief patterns such as family (first you model your parents), your friends (largest impact during socialisation period), religion, school (teachers, friend’s, lessons), geography (where you were brought up), economics and prosperity (affects your beliefs about money), major historical events (like if you grew up in a war) and of course the media.
We know that whatever you believe is what you create in your life. Your values will determine what motivates you, your attitude will affect how you behave and respond to events that occur in your life. A life coach can help you explore your motivations, values, beliefs and attitudes that have become your identity. Then they can guide you to overcome any limiting beliefs and behaviours that might be holding you back and help you reprogram your true beliefs to maximise your potential.
I did a 6-month program of life coaching, as I needed help to turn my negative thought patterns around that was stopping my body from doing its job – healing itself. I worked through some generational patterns and past life sequences that were creating a clash between my subconscious beliefs and my current conscious thoughts. I wrote down my KPI and how I would know when I had achieved them. I worked through how negative patterns and learned values had impacted my natural instincts and used affirmations, kinesiology, meditation and timeline therapy to restore my core values. I related everything back to a cellular level and visualised and gave thanks for the body’s miraculous and natural self-healing ability. I put faith back in my self and my innate ability to heal and be healthy. I made a huge break through in my health during this time and have continued many of the practices I learnt to my everyday ongoing life. I cant recommend life coaching highly enough and especially my coach Sarah Nonclares of Equilibro coaching.
