Don’t get sprung this Spring!
Life is a dynamic thing, and always throwing stressors at us, whether they are physical, emotional or toxic, the body still has to cope with them the best it can. With the change of seasons, we find ourselves doing different activities depending on our lifestyles and changes we may want to make through this transition of seasons. A big part of coming into spring for many people is that of the Spring clean. And with that comes the extra stress on the system of physically cleaning up the accumulation of Winters laxity, the stirring up of dust and possible toxic fumes from many household cleaners. (Choose environmentally friendly and chemically free cleaners to ease the toxic load on your system when cleaning)
With the onset of greater physical exertion than your system is used to, it’s a good thing to be aware of what’s going on in your body. From the minute cleaning of all the corners of your house or work environment, the constant repetitive movements of the vacuum, to the packing away of winters clothes and placing them away in the harder to reach spots, these activities may include unusual stretches or twists, and without this being a usual daily stress your body is adapted to, it may not take on board that stress as easily as desired, and by the end of the day you’re feeling a few more aches and pains in the body than usual.
At this point you may wonder, will you be recovering at the best rate your body is capable of, or are things not quite up to scratch in terms of their functionality. Now the nerve system is the great communicator of our bodies, and if you’re nerve system isn’t functioning at its best, everything it communicates with (eg. Your entire body), will be adversely affected. This may cause compensation patterns of stress that while initially may seem small, they can eventually build up till the smallest of stressors ends up being the straw that broke the camel’s back, and what was a small niggle initially, has become something of much greater discomfort, that could have been avoided completely if addressed early.
So after you’ve done a Spring clean, or even before to be in your best shape for this great task, is a great time to come in and get your system checked to ensure that your nerve system, protected by your spine, is in its best working order. This will allow you to once more be functioning at your best, healing optimally, and ready to take on any stressors the world will throw your way. Feel free to make an appointment today, and make sure you’re working at your best.
