I love this recipe! The original recipe is from Emma Sutherland (find it here) and I have been making this for quite some time now and each time, I change the recipe just a little bit. This recipe is great for liver support (just what we need after the holiday season, isn’t it?).
-
Coriander is a very strong chelator, which means it attaches to heavy metals in the body and helps to get rid of them
-
Brazil nuts are a great source of selenium, which is an antioxidant to help support the cells from damage
-
Pumpkin seeds are a source of zinc and magnesium, both of which are required for detoxification in the liver, while zinc is used for toxin removal in the kidneys and bladder
-
Garlic and lemon juice also support detoxification in the liver.
-
Nutritional yeast comes from saccharomyces cerevisiae (Boulardii) – more commonly known as baker’s yeast or brewer’s yeast. It is used as a protein supplement, energy booster or immune enhancer. It can also be used for treatment of constipation, candida albicans, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammation in the gut, and some parasites (just to name a few!).*
