Happy August everyone!
Its not rare that my clients ask me “what foods can I get away with?”. As if food was something that either makes you put on weight or not. But hang on a second. What is the reason we eat again?
We eat to nourish and nurture our bodies. We give it nutrients so it can function at its best as well as heal and repair itself. Its happening at this very second, its happening all the time. Our food is what gives our bodies its building blocks. It is what it uses to produce enzymes, antibodies, neurotransmitters as well as to create muscles, bones, skin. So guess what? If you are not giving those tools to your temple, it cannot perform all those activities properly and that is when disease starts.
Think that your body has an innate ability to heal itself and it is trying to do that at every moment. When there are tools missing, it will still try to make the most of what it has and keep the balance within. But as magic as life is, when deficiencies are present, there’s only so much your body can do, despite of its amazing ability to adapt. That is when unhealthy symptoms start happening.
Your bowel movements are not regular, your skin is breaking out, you are facing an autoimmune disease like hypothyroidism or multiple sclerosis, your sleep is out of whack and you have been trying for a baby for the last 2 years with no success. Does any of those (or more) sound familiar?
Maybe we should have a closer look at what you have been putting in your mouth.
When it comes to absorption, the combination of micro and macronutrients plays a massive role. One nutrient may stop the absorption of another or one may need the other to go inside. Mother Nature with its infinity knowledge makes all foods with a perfect combination of those nutrients so they can easily go into your cells and do their job. When we process and change foods, we are decreasing if not stopping that process completely. And then overloading our bodies with unnecessary substances, that even though it can’t use, it will still have to work hard to get rid of.
If you are interested in giving your body the best so you can feel amazing, join us this week and find out more about healthy eating, do’s and don’ts and what are the reason why you could still be struggling (specially with digestive complaints like bloating, heartburn, constipation and diarrhoea) even though you are already super on top of what you eat. We might need to go deeper and look at your gut health and how much of those super amazing foods you are absorbing in your there. “You are what you eat” – I always remind my clients that you are actually what you absorb.
Our nutritionists and naturopaths are super excited and ready to help you on that journey. Come find out what are the best foods for you (what is good for you might not be good for me as we have different lifestyles and constitutions) and make sure your body is effectively using all the goodness you are feeding it. Come talk to us and get 50% OFF your initial consultation – we can’t wait to see you feeling and looking your best!
