I can’t believe it’s February already!
Hopefully you have utilised the amazing Health Space Christmas / New Years vouchers in January and are well on the way to achieving your health goals for 2019. If not, then there is still time. The more effort you put into planning your year and thinking about what you want to do, who you want to be, what you want to create, who you want to spend time with, what you want to experience and how you want to feel, the more likely it is that you will achieve these goals and make your dreams a reality.
If you’re still deciding what you want out of 2019, keep things simple… here is my advice to try this year:
Don’t bite off more than you can chew
You are better off choosing a few major intentions and doing them with energy and enthusiasm than doing many things below average.
Sometimes less is more
If you are choosing to do something big this year and make it ‘the year I build a home’, the ‘year I write a book’ or ‘the year I get my health to an optimal level’, then be okay for that to be your entire years focus
Follow your intuition
Trust yourself. Don’t worry about doing what you ‘think is right’, worry about doing what ‘feels right’. Trust your intuition and if this means putting things on the back burner then do it! They will circle around again when the time is right.
Ask yourself ‘What am I most excited about?’
Enthusiasm will ignite your drive to achieve even the most challenging of goals. If you love what you are doing then you are more likely to stick with it. So start with changes or actions you love in order to create sustainable life changes that head you in the direction of your dreams.
Feel free to change your mind
You are the creator of your life. You can change direction at any time, just like that!
Progress can come from the most unlikely direction
Sometimes your biggest challenge or set back can end up being your greatest gift. What may seem like a mistake may be the detour you need. Sometimes it’s all perspective. No matter what happens, choose to see the progress that is always there. Everything is progress. If you look for the lesson or the silver lining in every situation you will move forward quicker and learn faster each time.
Something is better than nothing
On those days where it all seems too hard, just pick something simple and keep moving forward. When you take action you feel more in control, you move through fears quicker and you have less self-doubt. Keep moving. If you are moving, you are learning. If you are learning, you are making progress. Celebrate the small wins.
Focus on how you feel
If something doesn’t feel good then ask yourself why. If your attention is on creating a life that feels good then the journey will be a much more enjoyable one.
I will leave you with the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson, ‘It’s not the destination, it’s the journey.’ No matter where you direct your energy to or what goals you are striving to attain, the real learnings come from the process, not the end result. Make your journey enjoyable, and the rest will follow.
Enjoy your month.
