Workplace Wellbeing | Wellbeing Workplace

What do you know about workplace wellbeing? Does it sound like annual flu vaccinations, discounted gym memberships and free entry into fun runs? Whilst all of these things are GREAT perks what about some ongoing behaviour change? What about education and knowledge that can improve your life day to day?

We have your answer…Health Space has launched its Corporate Talks in 2018 and our goal is to allow workplaces the ability to learn and grow together so everyone can experience health and happiness.

Not only do we provide education and knowledge but practical tools which attendees can implement right then and there. Making behaviour change HAPPEN!

You have probably heard that wellbeing at work drives employee effectiveness and engagement, boosts performance, and helps to attract and retain staff. It can also improve your bottom line, reduce absenteeism and also reduce sick leave. But, on the individual level it can boost mood, increase satisfaction at work, prevent development of lifestyle disease, and what we think is one of the most important things…it can simply make people happy.

We focus on six areas of health which include:

  • Posture and pain;
  • Sleep health and fatigue management;
  • Modern Mindfulness;
  • Nutrition – how to make healthy eating easy;
  • Exercise in a busy world; and
  • Stress management

We see workplace wellness as not only enhancing the health of the individuals and impacting culture but also preventing financial drawbacks. These include preventing workplace injury and illness, which was estimated to cost Australian employers $10.2 billion in 2005-2006. We also saw that unhealthy workers take up to 9 times more sick leave than healthy workers.  Whilst these savings are important workplace wellbeing should be about making the business a better place to be.
