Katie grew up on a small farm on the Far North Coast of NSW and has always had an interest and a passion for health. She now calls herself a Northern Beaches local, having been practicing and living in the area for many years, after graduating from Macquarie University with both her Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and Master of Chiropractic.
She first realised that Chiropractic would be her future when, as a fifteen year old, she was diagnosed with severe idiopathic scoliosis (curvature of the spine). The degree of curvature was so bad that her only option was surgery. Katie now lives with screws and a metal rod along part of her spine.
This experience helped her realise the crucial role prevention can play in spinal care and has only increased her passion for health and wellness. She is living proof that, despite what type of body you have been dealt with, there is always something you can do to make it function at its optimal best.Katie has continued postgraduate studies including Applied Kinesiology (AK), nutrition, various pregnancy and paediatric seminars, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT) and Total Body Modification (TBM), a variety of nutrition seminars and the psychology of nutrition.
Katie loves seeing families and fitness fanatics in practice and has particular interest in women’s and children’s health, as well as nutrition and preconception care. You are likely to regularly see Katie running around the roads and paths of Mona Vale, or at the local gym. She enjoys being fit and active, and will never take this for granted. She believes optimal health is something to be valued and continually worked towards- from the inside and out.
You are only given one body, so you must treat this with absolute respect in order to have a happy and fulfilled life.
