Anne Surland is a Senior Clinical Social Worker and mental health clinician who brings over 35 year’s experience and a thorough training in a wide range of evidence-based therapies. She has a warm, respectful and compassionate style of working and is able to assist people of all ages with whatever may be causing them concern. Whether that be worry or those experiencing more significant emotional, relationship or mental health issues. Anne is able to draw on a wealth of both personal life experience and professional skill to enable each person to reach a clear understanding of their issues and to develop the means to resolve them .
With an initial background in medical social work Anne then undertook post graduate training in child and youth mental health at the Institute of Psychiatry and further study in relationships at the Institute of Family Therapy.
She has worked extensively in both adult, child and youth mental health services and over the years has developed a passion for understanding the way in which the body and mind interact and impact each other. This led to further study and training in body focused psychotherapies which research is proving to be the most effective way to assist people impacted by trauma.
A native of the Northern Beaches Anne also has a strong sense of community and a wide ranging knowledge of the services and resources available for those requiring specific supports.
