Michael is an exercise physiologist and health coach with 5 years clinical experience, using exercise as medicine to treat chronic disease, ensure healthy ageing and maximise quality of life.
He is known for being a caring and enthusiastic professional, and offers a different perspective on the challenges people face in life, and shares the skills and systems that make living easier.
We all know exercise and movement is important, but like medicine, there is a specific dose response depending on what activity you do, how intense you do it, how often and for how long. However, each of us have a unique medical history that may limit or be enhanced by our exercise. Knowing how to use exercise for best health outcomes is the specialty of exercise physiology.
Michael has been fortunate to have positively impacted tens of thousands on their health journeys with the following benefits of physical activity:
Lose weight, increased strength & fitness, improved mobility & energy, and reduction in pain.
Manage chronic health conditions - such as arthritis, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, asthma, Parkinson's, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, falls risk and obesity.
Manage acute injuries and support before / after operations - typically in conjunction with your GP and physio / chiro. Note: Physio tends to be earlier in rehab and is hands on, exercise physiology tends to be later in rehab and is NOT hands on.
Improved mental health – with improved mood and more control over the experience of stress, depression, anxiety, and more.
Greater confidence & quality of life – essentially, you’re more able to live the life you want to lead!
For the past 10+ years Michael has specialised in behaviour change and habits as they relate to overall health and lifestyle. The aim is to guide his clients towards consistent actions and sustainable health behaviours that lead to a fulfilled life.
Michael has delivered hundreds of exercise classes to all ages, managed corporate wellness programs of 10,000+ people, and written more than 500 articles on exercise, nutrition, chronic diseases, and more! Thankfully, working 1:1 allows for greater personalisation and more sustainable results, something both Michael and his clients love! Michael also loves to stay active with barbells, kettlebells and rock climbing.
