Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine
Laelia Douglas-Brown - Health Space Clinics

Laelia Douglas-Brown is a Chinese Medicine practitioner with a particular love & focus in using acupuncture to facilitate the healthiest possible version of yourself. This is done with the assistance of other modalities such as moxa (heat therapy), cupping, tuina (massage) & herbal medicine as needed.

Laelia believes that creating balance is vital in working towards your health goals! To facilitate this process, she will work with you in considering sustainable practices from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective. Food and lifestyle recommendations are powerful healers in Chinese Medicine. All of these modalities combined will have you taking your health into your own hands at a pace you feel comfortable with.

Outside of the clinic room, a lifetime of rock-climbing has taken Laelia outdoors, overseas, and over the past few years consistently to national level competition. Laelia has ranked top 5 in Australia and she is currently on the Australian Climbing Team. This process has allowed her to appreciate the commitment required of an athlete or active person in maintaining performance throughout the year, even whilst managing injuries. Having managed her own injuries, she understands that physical demands placed upon the body are best supplemented with consistent bodywork and system support.

Beyond musculoskeletal conditions, she has particular interest in digestive issues (such as IBS), women’s health support, as well as areas of health that can so easily influence our day to day, such as stress, fatigue, emotional wellbeing and sleep concerns.

Laelia is a degree qualified Chinese Medicine practitioner who completed her 4 year B. Health Science (TCM) through the University of Technology in Sydney, followed by an internship in China at the Chengdu University of TCM, Sichuan Province. She is also a current member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).
