After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Development, Kobi retained a keen interest in food systems, and how certain environmental factors and pollutants affect the health and wellbeing of the human body — and all other life on planet Earth.
With these long-held interests, together with learning from her own personal health journey, Kobi decided to pursue a Bachelor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and graduated from the Sydney Institute of TCM. Kobi appreciates Chinese Medicine encompasses the holistic view that the human body is intrinsically connected to our environment and nature. Therefore, diet, lifestyle and emotional factors, as well as geographic, climatic and seasonal factors, are considered in the assessment of your individual health.
Parallel to this approach, Kobi recognizes the strengths of modern health science, and uses an evidence-based approach in her Chinese Medicine practice. She also encourages and supports her patients to advocate for their own health and wellbeing, and to become active participants in their own self-care and treatment program.
Your Chinese Medicine treatment with Kobi may include acupuncture, cupping, gua sha (scraping), moxibustion, Chinese herbal medicine, and / or diet and lifestyle recommendations — this will be adjusted accordingly as part of your individual treatment plan. Kobi has an interest in digestive disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), chronic pain, menstrual disorders, post-partum care, stress management, and sleep disorders.
Additionally, Kobi holds a Graduate Diploma in Education (Early Childhood) and has observed how the creative arts (drawing, painting, dancing, singing, storytelling, writing) can play a positive role in the healing journeys of both children and adults alike.
Outside of the Health Space clinic, Kobi enjoys listening to podcasts, reading journals, and watching documentaries on the topics of astronomy and space, ecology and nature, botanical medicines, traditional diets, as well as health and the human body. She also likes to bring people together to cook and share good food, and to go on nature walks.
Kobi is an AHPRA registered TCM practitioner, and is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association.
