Joyce is a passionate, caring and motivated chiropractor. Joyce was born and raised in Singapore for 22 years, and speaks three languages, English, Mandarin and Hokkien. Joyce obtained her Diploma in Biomedical Sciences in Singapore, and moved to Sydney to pursue her passion for chiropractic and holistic healthcare, completing her Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and Master of Chiropractic at Macquarie University in Sydney.
Joyce has always lived an active lifestyle from a young age, and has been involved in numerous sports such as tennis, badminton, basketball, swimming, touch footy, and rugby union. At age 20, she began suffering from a right ankle dislocation injury, neck and lower back pain, headaches, chronic fatigued syndrome, cognitive problems (memory and concentration), insomnia, and bad period pains over the period of 3 years. Unsatisfied with a medication only approach, Joyce sought out a more natural approach.
After seeing a Chiropractor in 2011, Joyce found amazing results with chiropractic. Joyce quickly realised the wonders of chiropractic care and the amazing work that it did to her mind and body, enhancing her body to heal innately, as well as boosting her immune system, and optimizing health. From that moment onwards, Joyce knew that she’d wanted to become a chiropractor to help people recover and heal naturally.
Joyce is a strong believer in preventative care, optimising body functions, and proper postural alignment. Joyce provides chiropractic care to a vast range of patients, specializing in Diversified manual adjusting techniques, Gonstead, Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP), Low force techniques such as Thompson Drop-Table, Sacro-Occipital Technique (cranials, jaw work, pelvic blocking), and Activator technique. Joyce incorporates her treatment with rehabilitation exercise programs, improving functional movement patterns, trigger point therapy, active muscle release technique, soft tissue work, rigid/kinesiology taping, and lifestyle advice to ensure her patient receives the best treatment outcome.
Joyce completed her level 1 sports trainer certificate through Sports Medicine Australia, and had worked with Macquarie University Rugby and AFL team. She is very passionate and dedicated in helping individuals who suffers from chronic pain, spinal and joint dysfunction, sports injuries, neck and back pain, by implementing a multi-disciplinary approach together with rehabilitation programs tailored to meet individual needs, with the goals of long-term benefits and improving individuals’ overall quality of life.
Joyce looks forward to caring for the community in Rozelle & Balmain whilst helping individuals to lead a pain-free life, and achieving their goals.
