Dave is an AACMA and AHPRA Registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medical Practitioner who has a passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine and the benefits that it brings, especially when incorporated with modern understanding in today's world.
Dave has always had an interest in Health, and before becoming an Acupuncturist by completing a Bachelor of Health Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the University of Technology, Sydney, Dave worked as a Microbiologist and Biochemist focussing on food, nutrition and the prevention of disease. With this experience in the field of Health, Dave has a deep understanding of Western medicine and its implications on the body. He uses this understanding to enhance his treatments and traditional Chinese medicine approach.
With his interest in research, Dave was part of the initial group that started the Acupuncture Cancer Research program, developed between Concord Repatriation General Hospital and the University of Technology, Sydney. Additionally, Dave has worked in a specialty Diabetes ward in China, which focussed on the treatment of diabetes conditions and related complications.
Since he has met and treated so many people with complicated conditions, in need of critical care, Dave has been able to develop a holistic and systematic focus on his patient's treatment and tailor his treatment to the specific patient needs with the desire to maximise the patient's recovery.
Dave has a great interest in treating digestion, musculoskeletal, diabetes and skin conditions as he has seen first hand the improvement that can come from these being treated successfully.
