With joy and self-expression at its heart, the holistic dance movement practice of Nia puts enJOYment into keeping fit and healthy.

The Mona Vale clinic has its very own studio and run a variety of classes everyday to suit all walks of life. We have a variety of teachers, time slots, class lengths and styles so there is sure to be a class that suits you!

Yoga Pilates & Nia

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar yoga has deep-rooted traditions to the yoga sutras (written over 2500 years ago). There is an emphasis on the use of props to ensure precision and alignment, and classes can be easily tailored to all ages and all fitness types.

Pre-Natal Yoga

If you’ve never practiced yoga before, pregnancy is a wonderful time to start. Pre-natal yoga is a great way to reduce the physical discomforts (such as lower-back-pain and fatigue), and emotional strains (such as fear and anxiety) of pregnancy.

With a heavy focus on relaxation breathing, it has been scientifically proven that many movements practiced during pregnancy yoga actually encourage the baby to be in a healthy position for birth.

Ultimately, pre-natal yoga provides you with the tools to help aid you pregnancy – including developing skills in breathing, movement and relaxation.

Hatha Yoga

Being one of the most popular styles of yoga, Hatha Yoga consists of slow-paced poses and stretches that raise breathing awareness. The aim of Hatha Yoga is to achieve a positive balance between the mind and body, and also teaches meditation techniques.

Vinyasa Flow

Also known as ‘Power Vinyasa,’ Vinyasa Flow is a practice that connects inner strength with an inner calmness of breath. Its aim is to teach controlled breathing and empowerment.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is perfect for those wanting to increase flexibility and release tightened body points. Restorative Yoga is known for its deep relaxation and slow-pace, making it a perfect rejuvenation exercise.

Pilates

Pilates classes at Health Space focus on strengthening the core postural muscles of the body, which stabilise the torso and improve flexibility and strength. Its main benefits include:

• Better quality of movement
• Reduced stress levels
• Improved posture
• Toned abdominal muscle

Nia holistic dance “the joy of movement”
